so i visited my grandparents today because Father Conlin and Josie were visiting from ireland. i love it when they come because it reminds me of part if Ireland i dont remember. their brogue is so rich and sweet, and it makes my grandpa's seem so much deeper. Fr. Conlin said mass at the dinner table and after you could almost see it in their eyes... "mass is done? "yes?" and out comes the jug of whiskey. goblets of wine passed around and everyone ate and laughed and its so funny. grandpa starts singing the "the jug of punch"[link]
punch of course being whiskey, cloves, lemon, and hot water
"nahh, don need the cloves."

i also learned how to make irish coffee, which is a lot more involved then just whiskey coffee and cream ( don need the cream.... or the coffee) lol

Fr. Conlin has to be the happiest man alive. he's just there with his food and drink and family and a smile so great you'd think he's the richest man alive. just lovely, lovely, everything is lovely. the weather is grand, the food is rich, the drink is strong, and the girls are pretty, so life is just lovely. like he couldnt ask for anything more.
he makes me self conscious tho, because we got there before my cousins did and they were talking about me. my school work, and if i was still in the english honors class, and of course started talkign about me when i was little "oh you'were the sweetest young'n, and still the prettiest" it just makes me glad that none of my cousins were there yet -.-*

so dinner, then tea and cake, and of course more whiskey. they had brought irish tea for us to take home, because its almost impossible to find here in the states. and dad forgot his box so i picked it up to take home.
"oh thats for you're father"
"oh, i know, but i drink it more than he does, so i get to carry it"
"oh realy?" they all laughed and Father Conlin goes "tas alright, irish tea'll make you'all the more lovely"

yeah. irish tea makes girls pretty. go figure.
